How To Change TomTom Sat Nav Startup Image Splash Screen

Every time your power on your TomTom sat nav, a splash screen with an image will appear for a few seconds and will shortly disappear afterwards. The manufacturer TomTom has set the splash screen image on multiple satellite navigation devices to have TomTom logo branding on them as default from the factory. Some people may find that the default startup image looks boring or uncool, so TomTom have made an option that allows you to change it to a customized one of your choice. You can use any image from the internet that has the same resolution (320x240) as your TomToms actual screen and needs to in either a .bmp or .jpg format. If you use an image that has the incorrect resolution the image will be cut out from the edges of the screen. Also any other image formats will not work in this situation because the device will simply not recognize them.

1) Power on your TomTom sat nav by holding down the Power button to switch on the device. If successful powered on, you will hear the drum theme and will see the current splash screen.

2) Wait for the TomTom to load up the maps. Then touch the middle area of the screen with your finger to access the main menu.

3) From the main menu, find the option called Change Preferences and tap it with your finger to select it.

4) Then find and tap Start Up Preferences and tap Done with your finger. You will see onscreen that you are now asked to change the image used for the startup splash screen. So find the image you want to use in the Photo Gallery and select it. Now next time you attempt to switch on your TomTom you will see your new splash screen image that you have chosen.
